In Stanley, Virginia, there is a darling valley filled with cabins to rent and even a wedding venue for upscale private events. It has a very exclusive vibe and is a coveted Shenandoah National Park wedding venue. When Rachel and Brendan hired me as their Charlottesville wedding photographer, I was thrilled to finally get to capture at the Pavilion at Shenandoah Woods. Here is what you need to know before booking!

Location

This stunning Shenandoah wedding venue may just have the best views of the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Pavilion at Shenandoah Woods is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, about an hour north of Harrisonburg. In a private valley, the venue is nestled right up against the woods with a serene open field.

The Pavilion is an open-air structure, with no exterior walls you can enjoy the views and the breeze. However, with a roof over head you are protected from rain (which was perfect for Rachel and Brendan’s rainy wedding day). In addition, the pavilion has changing rooms, restrooms, and a catering kitchen. With this space you will also have access to speakers, lighting, table and chairs.

Ceremony At The Pavilion at Shenandoah Woods

I love that this Shenandoah National Park wedding venue has options for where you can have your ceremony. The most popular by far is the lawn in front of the pavilion. This spot has a gorgeous view of the iconic Blue Ridge Mountains for the perfect backdrop.

The other option, which is equally as charming, is the ceremony grove. This is a more private location on the property and gives a very intimate atmosphere. You will be surrounded by lush woods and native shrubs, with hidden views of the mountains peeking out through the trees.

Shenandoah Woods Cabins

Shenandoah Woods stands firm in the belief that weddings should last for days, not hours. You and your guests may choose to stay in onsite cabins for the weekend after your wedding for an additional cost. This is a great way to continue the party and enjoy all that the mountains have to offer! There are a variety of cabins from tiny one bedrooms that are perfect for honeymooning. To a 6 bedroom cabin for guests to share and enjoy together.
