Tis the season for couple Christmas photos! As a Virginia wedding photographer, I have found that this time of year is popular for engagement and proposal photos. However, in recent years, Christmas photos for couples have become more popular, which I love! Recently, I had a session with Jasmin, Marco and their new pup that screamed classy Christmas! And I want to share it with you for inspiration and ideas!
It doesn’t matter where you live in Virginia, I guarantee there is a cute, small downtown area within an hour of you! I love the historic buildings, festive decorations from small businesses, and the abundance of variety in the backdrops that downtowns have to offer! For Jasmin and Marco we got lucky in our planning and the downtown area was very quiet during our session. There wasn’t a lot of foot traffic which made for a more intimate experience.
Something I really liked about Jasmin and Marcos’s outfit choices for their couple Christmas photos was how subtle they were. Neither outfit screamed Christmas, but both embodied the cozy vibes of the season! Flannels, sweaters, jeans, boots and small accessories are all great options for couples outfits this time of year. Also, consider scarves, sweater dresses, cardigans, and other warm looks!
Bringing along your furry friend, whether they are new to the family or an older dog, is always a great idea! Be sure to bring a leash, baggies, and treats for good behavior. Even dress up your pet with a little bow or bandana! We will be sure to get candid photos of you walking your pup, as well as a few posed family portraits.
Just because you don’t have children, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t document your family. And even if you do have children, couple Christmas photos is a great idea for a date night away! Make your Christmas cards stand out with unique and charming photos that tell your story!
