On Sunny Slope Farm is a picturesque wedding venue nestled in the heart of Virginia’s Shenandoah Valley. This historic, family-owned farm offers a rustic-chic setting that seamlessly blends natural beauty with modern amenities. Making it an ideal location for couples seeking a memorable wedding experience, and one of my favorites as a Charlottesville wedding photographer!
Situated in Rockingham County, just minutes from downtown Harrisonburg is On Sunny Slope Farm. This Shenandoah wedding venue is conveniently located near major highways, making it easily accessible for guests traveling from different regions. For out-of-town guests, the venue is just about two hours from Richmond, an hour from Charlottesville, and 30 minutes from Staunton.
As you can imagine, this farm has a lot of room to party! The farm spans 67 acres of lush landscapes, offering multiple ceremony sites. Each can be customized to reflect your unique style and preferences. This also includes 40 x 120-foot weather-rated white event tent, equipped with wood doors, sidewalls, chandeliers, string lights, and white ceiling drapery. All of this beautiful space accommodates up to 300 guests!
The venue also features a renovated barn with climate-controlled dressing suites, ADA-compliant bathrooms, and ample space for both intimate gatherings and larger celebrations.
This is a lot to love at this Shenandoah wedding venue! From event planning and coordination in house, to the convenience of having chairs and tables included in your package pricing. They also provide you with a 16×24 foot dance floor, 8×16 stage, speakers, Sonos music player system and so much more! Not to mention, this venue is also pet-friendly!
As a Charlottesville photographer, I love getting to know the history of a venue, just as much as I like to gush over the location and amenities! Established in 1828, On Sunny Slope Farm is rich in history and tradition. The farm’s historic bell, which has rung during celebrations for over two centuries, adds a unique touch to any event. Surrounded by rolling green hills and stunning views of the Blue Ridge and Appalachian Mountains, the venue provides a breathtaking backdrop for your wedding day! Here, old world character and natural beauty come together.
