You just got engaged and you are eager to get to the alter! However, you are still have an idea of your dream day. As a Charlottesville wedding photographer, I believe that you deserve your dream day without having to wait for it. That is why I am sharing my timeline to plan your Shenandoah wedding in just 6 months.
This will be a tight timeline, so that you can be married as soon as possible without compromising your style or vision. A lot of your “to-dos” will be 6 months before. But, remember many of these tasks are as simple as booking a reservation through a quick phone call!
Your first decision while planning your Shenandoah wedding in 6 months is to set your date! However, often your wedding date revolves around when your venue has openings. When first contacting your venue, have in mind an estimate of when you want to get married, then ask for their available dates.
Once your date is set and reserved with your venue, get in touch with all of your vendors. I suggest contacting your wedding photographer first, as other vendors like florists can book multiple clients for a day. Whereas photographers can only shoot one wedding a day. Making our schedules fill up very quickly!
Another wedding vendor that can be in high demand are officiants. You can either choose an officiant that you have seen at your friends weddings, or choose someone you know who is ordained. Either way, make sure you connect with your officiant and book them early!
Finding your dream dress may take some time. Start shopping around as early as you can! It is very rare that brides find everything they are looking for at the first bridal boutique they visit. In addition, you will likely need to order your size and have alterations made.
As you plan your Shenandoah wedding in 6 months, be sure to prioritize your vendors. With that said, if any of the following vendors provide services that are very important to you, then book them sooner than 4 months prior.
At this point, the time will fly! Get with your wedding planner to solidify your wedding day timeline. Then reach out to each of your vendors with this timeline and any last minute changes or ideas you have. As a Shenandoah wedding photographer I love getting a look at your timeline so that I best prepare myself to capture every tender moment from your day!
As your wedding approaches you will also want to look into the logistics of getting your marriage license in the state of Virginia. Make plans to get this before your wedding day!
The last step is to tie the knot! When you decide to plan your Shenandoah wedding in 6 months you will be saying “I-do” before you know it! Looking for vendor recommendations? Reach out and ask who I love to work with!
